Hanalei
Bay is the largest bay on Kauai’s North Shore and considered one of the
most beautiful beaches setting in all of Hawaii. Hanalei means
“lei-shaped bay” in Hawaiian and nothing fits the bay’s shape more
perfectly than this description. It is a long half moon of golden sand.
It has a beauty shape, wonderful atmospheres, good temperatures, and
beautiful views. Hanalei Bay Beach is well-known for its beauty.
Hanalei
Bay shape is nearly a perfect semi-circle of white sand. Behind the
beach is an utterly breathtaking backdrop of waterfalls and emerald
mountain peaks wrapped in mist.Hanalei Bay Beach is located at the base
of cliffs. These cliffs reflect into the glass-like water of the bay.
Surrounding the bay are 1,000- to 4,000-foot-high (305 m to 1,219 m)
mountains covered with mist. The bay is so beautiful that the enamored
Japanese author Haruki Murakami wrote a short story about it called
“Hanalei Bay.”
The
beach is two miles long, 125 feet wide, and bordered by the Hanalei
River to the east and the Waipa River to the west. The ocean bottom
slopes gently to overhead depths, and there are large coral reefs at
both ends of the bay. Furthermore, Coral reefs grow at both ends of the
bay – Pu‘u Poa Reef at the left end and Waikoko Reef at the right end –
while the middle part is scattered with shallow sandbars and tiny
patches of coral. In the summer, boats and yachts anchor at Hanalei
Landing, a pier located in the middle of the bay.
Moreover,
the weather at the beach is the most quarreling of all places in the
world. The stratus clouds up high. Threw the morning fog, out in the
distance the waves crashing and splashing. The roaring of the sea, the
clapping of the waves to the rocks, and the songs of the sea gulls
together they become such a magnificent melody. First, the roaring of
the sea, is such a natural thing. Simultaneously, the clapping of the
waves to the rock is like the clapping of a song with a rhythm beat. In
addition, the songs of the sea gulls with the high pitch squeak warm the
heart of everyone. Thus, it makes part of the astonishing beach. Now,
the day is almost over, and the sun looks brighter then before. The
water is as clear and clean as glistening glass, drifting the feelings
away to the depth of the magnificent sea. The gentle waves eagerly
pushed one another to touch the smooth sea sand, as if they are trying
to say something secret about the sea to the golden sand.
Beach on a sunny day is wonderful. The sun is like a naughty child, little by little rising up from the edge of sky and the deep sea, smiling, showing his face to the whole world. The howling wind whistles through the beach like an arriving train. As the crash of the waves thunder like a gigantic monster crying out, showing his strength to the world.
Furthermore,
when the sun goes down it is setting below the sea.The sky is stunning
shades of purple, pink, orange, and red a bit of yellow reflected in the
sea water. The sun so large seemed to whisper " farewell" to the world
as it sink lower and in a lazy manner, almost as if it never want to
leave.
The temperatures is from the lower 60s to the upper 80s (15.5-26.6 C) depending on elevation and season.Though Hanalei Bay is generally good for a wide range of activities, from swimming to kayaking to windsurfing to yachting, it is subject to high surf and strong currents in the winter months. High surf from mid-October through March creates strong rip currents and pounding shore breaks. Waves of 20 feet (6 m) and more are not uncommon. For surfers, the biggest waves are at a spot called "Pinetrees," which is near the center of the bay. It never gets too crowded. At 125 feet (38 m) wide and 2 miles (3.2 km) long, the white-sand beach has enough room for everyone.
In
summary, Hanalei Bay is a wonderful place in the world. It is one of
the largest and beautiful bay in Hawaii. Tourists go to this place for
many purposes such as vacation, loosing stresses and so on. It is well-known for its beauty. I guarantee you will see heaven in the world if you go to this awesome place.
